Many thanks for a very enjoyable read! I have just recently been introduced to your music and have enjoyed it so much that I decided to read up on you, thus discovering your blog. I also recognized the picture upon which you based your album cover for 'The Golden Hour' I look forward to hearing more of not only your music, but also your travels.

Hey Tod!

I really loved to read about your travels, why did you stop? Please, continue updating!

Mr. A,

Hah, formality! Anyways I'm glad to see you're still alive and kicking. After Man on the Burning Tightrope I all but lost contact with what you where doing creatively. I guess it's expected when one doesn't have internet or access to the goings on of artists I respect and pull inspiration from.

I commend you for doing what you really want. It seems rare for someone to act on their own concience without second guessing themselves into hysteria and giving up.

Once upon a time I had the opportunity to see you play in Minneapolis MN, it was after the Ponzi Scheme was released. My good friend Nathan, being the saint that he is, took a Xerox copy of the Ponzi Scheme book cover and had you sign it for me. It read "Sorry you couldn't make it, looks like you need to find a new job".

I still have it and think about it when I pick up an instrument and have a mental block. "Time to find a new job" I think to myself, and play something outlandish that I would never think of using for anything. In the end I wind up with something interesting that I record and stash away for something later. Maybe some day I'll find some musicians. For now I sit and rot in west Michigan looking for someone that looks outside the scope of Nickleback and Eminem.

Best wishes Tod!

Mike

Traveling around the world, and specially traveling to the middle of "nowhere" has always been a dream of mine.
I found this blog from Wikipedia! I like your music and it has made me think of you as a real "thinking human". It's a pleasure to read what you think!
Linked you ;)

Tod, both your music and journal are awe-inspireing. You have indeed opened my mind to a different kind of life. I play and write music that is very very different but you are my inspiration, every time.

I am glad you returned safe (mostly) from your journeys and that the new album was indeed an amazing piece of musical art.

Keep going, Tod man!

Igal

The show in Israel was amazing just like the previous one a few years back!
the combination between sad and ironic lyrics and happy drunk dancing music is an amazing way to approach life.

the blog is also great, you killed me and my friends (Uri, Ori, Yudi and Udi)
with the description of the central bus station in TA :)
Peace,
Igal - A long time fan

Tod - just found this blog, after recently discovering your music. I do a radio show that is primarily "world music," and your new CD has quickly become one of my favorites, despite its dubious qualifications as "world music" (whatever that means, anyway). Love reading about your adventures, also -- hope you'll be posting more.

Cheers,

The 'sound fruit' - fantastic!!! From Borneo to Three Legged Dog - absolute brilliance! We all like to get drunk listening to your music (every friday and saturday I think), since we are from Balkan and Cop Shoot Cop lovers (an old gang of teachers, librarians, economists and geeks). If you want to see another place where the american bombs caused siren alarms and shelter-drinking, pay us a visit (ar just come for free)...
Sorry for my engRish.Greetings from Serbia.

What an adventure! Your discription and insight into these places really puts the reader closer to being there. I am so excited to hear the fruit that bears from this journey.

Quite the way with words, though I kind of knew that from your lyrics (in the year I've been listening to your music you've become most probably my favourite lyricist, as well as one of my favourite bands). Now I just have to learn to write lyrics that are nothing like yours but somehow as good. Curse you!
Can't wait to hear the new album, and it's been great to read of your travels.

Ilya

Thank you for sharing your amazing experiences with us. I am so looking forward to hearing even a little bit of recordsings too.

I wonder if the chaos of a large city like NY that you got to know (and hate ) actually allows you to take some of the insanity of your trip in stride...

Stay safe!

Ilya

Michael

Your words are a privilege to read. Incredible journey.

Thanks for sharing it.

Roberto

i feel like i was there.
good description Tod, you (your music, and your postcard) are the best things i discovered lately...

we live in an infested and skinned world-kibbutz... "but it can't never be a privilege if nobody looks at that great sky full of stars over you"

have a good prosecution, on the other side of the world.
(if i can i would suggest you, to visit the south of Italy... you will be surprised to see how it appears "other side of the world too"...)
